Sessions of the IGU Urban commission :
The IGU Urban Commission will propose two special Topic sessions on :
– Post socialist cities
– Eastern/Western cities
The IGU Urban Commission will propose also its 8 general topics :
1- Complex Urban Systems
2- Technological innovations and creative activities in cities
3- Contested Social Spaces
4- Creating Sustainability
5- Dilemmas of Aging Cities
6- Increasing Insecurity
7- Urban Heritage and Conservation
8- Urban Governance
Call for Session Proposals :
Sessions can take the following forms: 1) plenary sessions, 2) commission and task force sessions, 3) thematic sessions. When submitting a session proposal, please include the session type, name of the proposed chairperson, and a brief paragraph to outline the topic.

Participants in the oral and poster presentations during the commission sessions, general sessions and joint sessions must complete their registration and payment by : 31 January 2015
Plenary sessions
Plenary sessions provide a forum for interdisciplinary dialog on problems linked to the conference theme: Geography, Culture and Society for Our Future Earth. Invited speakers will give presentations followed by discussion.
Commission and task force sessions
The IGU commissions and task forces listed on the IGU-Moscow 2015 website will organize conference sessions. Interested participants should indicate the relevant commission or task force when submitting abstracts.
Registration
Conference registration begins on 1 November 2014. To register it is necessary to create a personal account in the online registration system.
